Florida Is Host to Some of the County’s Best Events

Although Florida is best known for its gorgeous beaches and popular theme parks, it is also infamous for an endless array of extraordinary events!

Our festivals are fun-filled and plentiful. Tampa’s Gasparilla Music Fest is an eclectic, grassroots venue with something for everyone – folk, blues, pop, rock and more!  There’s the Florida Seafood Festival with crab racing, oyster shucking and tons of tasty treats. Some of the country’s top chefs, including Guy Fieri and Anthony Bourdain, make their way to the Food Network and Cooking Channel’s South Beach Wine and Food Festival. St. Petersburg offers five full evenings of great jazz at its Jazz Festival. Naples holds an unequalled Art Festival, with hundreds of vendors and beautiful art on display. St. Augustine hosts its Winter Arts and Crafts Festival. Oh, and let’s not forget Tampa Bay’s Celtic Festival and Highland Games. There will be Irish and Scottish dancers; pipes, drums and ballads; a stone putt and caber toss; and plenty of nice cold beer!

Then, if you are a motor enthusiast, you are in luck! February is time for the Miami Boat Show. Some of the country’s most prestigious races are held at the Daytona International Speedway. It also hosts the Daytona Turkey Run, the country’s largest car show and swap meet. Daytona Bike Week and Biketoberfest are two of our country’s most famous annual motorcycle rallies. And, if planes are more your thing, you won’t want to miss the Sun ‘n Fun International Fly-In and Expo. It’s the largest fundraiser for the Aerospace Center for Excellent with over 200,000 expected guests, exhibitors, sponsors and performers!
